Guided tours


KAMU offers a wide selection of guided tours; brief introductions to the history of Espoo or thrilling trips back in time. We welcome museum visitors of all ages and interests, and are happy to tailor our tours according to your wishes. The tours can always be spiced up with activities; ask for more details when booking.

  • Tours are offered at any time within the museum hours: Tues, Sat-Sun 11 a.m.-5 p.m., Wed-Fre 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
  • Fee 40 € (50€ from 1.1.2020 ) + entrance to the Exhibition Centre WeeGee (12/10 €, free entry for children under 18 years and seniors over 70 years of age).
  • Our tours are available in Finnish, Swedish and English. Be sure to mention in which language you want your tour!

Highlights from the Stone Age to the city, 60 min, max. 25 people

Espoo is a young city but an old settlement. Why is Espoo a different kind of city? On the tour, we will discuss through stories how people’s lives changed and what stayed the same. The tour is the basic tour for the exhibition A Thousand Stories about Espoo.

History of Espoo in simple Finnish, 45–60 min, max. 25 people

People have lived in Espoo for 10,000 years. What has life been like in different times? The tour describes the history of Finland and Espoo in simple Finnish. We will discuss together how life has changed over thousands of years, and what has not changed. We will also talk about multiculturalism in Espoo from a historical perspective.

Different stories (for adults only), 45–60 min, max. 25 people

The guided tour explores the history you cannot find in the history books with a light-hearted approach. The tour describes the love stories, historical atrocities and strange occurrences that have taken place in Espoo in years gone by.

Calendars and museum experiences – WeeGee history tours

This tour explores the printing house famous for its concrete architecture, which currently serves as the museum’s exhibition centre. The tour reveals where WeeGee got its name, why it is located in Tapiola and what kind of museum experiences people can enjoy there today. There will also be stories about people who have worked at WeeGee. The tour is suitable for everyone who wants to conquer the whole building at once and explore its unique architecture.
