Dozens of companies and designers with their products, joyful activities at the WeeGee museums and free entrance throughout the weekend!

Produced by the Exhibition Centre WeeGee and Helsinki Design Week, this inspiring Christmas event is the perfect place to meet designers and buy wonderful design items. The museums’ workshops will offer you a creative outlet and Restaurant Lumière WeeGee will serve Christmas flavours with a French twist. We Jazz Djs will be in charge of music.

Entry to the museums and the event will be free.

12:00 am – 4:00 pm  Sweet!
At EMMA’s open art workshop, you can make the world’s coolest bracelet out of candy. Entry is free. 

3:00 pm April Jazz goes EMMA 
A concert featuring a jazz composition by musician Sid Hille. The piece has been influenced by the art of Rut Bryk and Tapio Wirkkala. The performance includes musicians Sid Hille (keyboards, theremin and percussion instruments) and Herbert Könighofer (saxophones, flutes and electronics).

80s Xmas Party from 11:00 to 17:00
During the WeeGee Xmas Design Market, the Finnish Toy Museum celebrates the upcoming holiday season by throwing an 80s-themed party. Be prepared for a nostalgic programme, including a theme song quiz and some fun facts about the 80s.

11:00–17:00 Penny sweets. I’ll take 10 pieces from jar one and 20 from jar five. Exchange your euros for some old Finnish markkas and buy your favourite 80s sweets at the Toy Museum’s penny sweets stand.   
11:00–17:00 Raffle. Buy a raffle ticket and be surprised! The Friends of the Finnish Toy Museum Hevosenkenkä will set up a traditional raffle.
11:00–17:00 Scavenger hunt with My Little Ponies. The ever-so-cute My Little Ponies have run away and are now hiding somewhere in the Toy Museum exhibition. Can you find them in the museum’s display cases?
12:00 and 16:00 Fun facts about childhood in the 80s. Travel back through time to the golden age of He-Man and the Care Bears!
12:30 and 15:30 Theme song quiz. Can you recognise familiar TV show theme songs from the 1980s? Test your memory in the theme song quiz!
13:00–15:00 Workshop: 80s decorations. Join us in the Toy Museum’s arts and crafts workshop and create your own 80s-themed Christmas decorations. 

ESPOO CITY MUSEUM KAMU

12:00–14:00 The Mystery of Espoonlahti – an independent activity tour for the whole family. Nonstop. An activity-packed independent tour for families through the Eyes on the Horizon exhibition. 
13:00–16:00 Workshop: Gifts with a maritime theme. Nonstop. Join us to create a maritime holiday gift for yourself or a friend.
15:00 and 16:00 History in Fifteen Minutes: Christmas at the manors. In Finnish.

ESPOO CITY MUSEUM KAMU

12:00 and 13:00 Travel back in time with Christmas carols. The vocal ensemble Laetificus will perform carols from different eras, full of Christmas spirit. Laetificus is all about bringing joy to everyday life and celebrations, to singers and listeners alike. Laetificus is Latin for something that brings joy. The ensemble adopted the name in 2001, although its roots go back to the early 1990s and the children’s choir of Tapiola Parish. Over the years, Laetificus has changed, grown and discovered its unique sound. 

13:00 Guided tour in Swedish: Blicken mot horisonten. 

14:00 Guided tour in Finnish: Eyes on the Horizon. 
13:00–16:00 Workshop: Old-style paper angels, nonstop. Let’s fold nostalgic paper angels.
