Tehdas Theatre: Siira’s Journey to Circus

Sello Hall - Soittoniekanaukio 1 A

Tue 28 May at 9.00 (EXTRA SHOW) and at 10:15

Siira’s Journey to Circus is a puppetry performance about a sensitive and shy Siira (an isopod) who doesn’t dare to go out – until a circus arrives at the Bug Forest. Siira puts on its better jacket, fixes its old bike and sets off. Unfortunately, Siira’s trip does not go as planned…

The journey grows into a fun, touching story about the way a shy creature can find courage and the way one can discover something meaningful, even if others do not see its worth.
Brought to life by puppet theatre artists, the Bug Forest is a visually inventive and surprising miniature world full of buzzing, chirping and whirring insect life.

The performance is based on Siiran sirkusmatka, an illustrated book by Reetta Niemelä and Salla Savolainen published in spring 2017 by Otava. The performance premiered in TEHDAS Teatteri, Turku, in spring 2017.
