History of toys and play KULPS! -tour
The Finnish Toy Museum - Näyttelykeskus WeeGee, Ahertajantie 5
On the guided tour History of toys and play we acquaint ourselves with the Toy museum’s permanent exhibit I spy… a whole load of toys. We will see how toys, games and children’s lives have changed through the years from the 1800s to the present. We tour through the latest hundred years in Finnish history, focusing on children and childhood. The students will get to touch and try out toys from different decades on the tour. We will even take a look at differences and similarities in childhood in the past compared to what the students experience today. Length 45 min.
The tour is eminently suitable for history class for grade 8, but it also works very well for grades 7 and 9. Groups of over 15 children are divided in two, so that one half is on the tour while the other is working on assignments, and then they switch. Length 1h.
Maximum group size 30 children. Bookings Tue-Fri from 9.00 onwards. Please book at least 2 weeks in advance.
