Espoo City Museum
The Archives consist of pictures, documents and interviews relating to the history of Espoo farms, businesses and individuals. The Archives also possess old maps of Espoo, local postcards and wallpaper specimens from old houses.
Espoo City Museum's collections have their own tale to tell about the people of Espoo - their livelihoods, lifestyles and pursuits. The artefact collections cover the various aspects of life, from the mundane to the festive. The collections include furniture, crockery, fabrics, machinery and tools. They focus in particular on the output of Espoo's industrial enterprises, such as the Kauklahti glassworks. The collections comprise ca 41 000 artefacts.
The City Museum's library contains not only literature on Espoo but also, for example, books on history and artefact research. The Archives comprise some 150,000 items.Library books are not lended out from the museum but it is possbile to come to the library to read them.
