  • 1:00 pm Welcome to the afternoon session, Susani Mahadura and Yagmur Özberkan        
    Hosted and moderated by a brave and energetic pair of Finnish journalists. They speak openly about topics on which most keep silent, throw off taboos and prejudices and are not afraid to shake up society and power structures.
  • 1:05 pm Greeting, Jani Toivola, Member of Parliament, member of the Education and Culture Committee
  • 1:15 pm A discussion on the future dreams and outlooks of children and young people, participation and the significance of art and cultural education, among other topics. The panellists include
    – Jani Toivola, Member of Parliament, member of the Education and Culture Committee
    – Pablo Alvarez, circus specialist and a founding member of the Globe Art Point Association
    – Iida Helin and Saara Palosaari, members of the Espoo Youth Council
    – Manuchehr Salimi, cultural supervisor in the Dari/Farsi and Kurdish languages representing the “Edetään Espoossa” (“Moving forward in Espoo”) project
    – Aref Hussein Mohammadi, student and association activist
    – Valisa Krairiksh, Project Manager and Head of Volunteer & Community Programmes from EJY ry
    – Discussion moderated by Mahadura & Özberkan 
  • 2:00 pm Inclusion through cultural project, Children’s Culture coordinator Anne Line Svelle, Children’s Culture Centre in Aarhus, Denmark

  • 2:35 pm Media & Power – On the connection between words, images and power, because they not only reflect reality but also create it. Editor-in-chief Koko Hubara, Freelance Journalist Kyösti Hagert and Diversity & Inclusion Specialist Sara Salmani.
  • 3:35 pm Answer session – What have you always wanted to know but never dared to ask? Answers to questions of linguistic and cultural diversity puzzling the participants. Answers are provided by, among others, Koko Hubara, Kyösti Hagert and Pirita Näkkäläjärvi, Sámi of the Year 2017.
  • 4:15 pm  Summary and conclusion of the day

Networking evening | CHILDREN’S CULTURAL CENTRE AURORA               
House-warming of the Aurora expansion, Meijeri. An evening for meeting friends and colleagues and making new friends. There will be an evening snack and music provided by a DJ. The “Mennään jo naapuriin” (“Let’s go to the neighbours’ already”) exhibition by Riina Katajavuori and Salla Savolainen will be open.
