The lectures during the jubilee year offer a chance to learn more about the Futuro house, the utopian visions of modernism and the inspiration they provided for artists.

Marko Home: Alternative futures
On Saturday 18 August at 1 pm
Art historian and Futuro specialist Marko Home talks about architectural utopias that preceded and succeeded the Futuro.

How Plastic Heart was born: Mika Taanila
On Friday 24 August at 6 pm
Chief Curator Arja Miller, curator of Plastic Heart, interviews visual artist and film director Mika Taanila about the planning of, inspiration for and work stages of the artwork celebrating Futuro’s 50th anniversary. Free entrance.

Guided tour with an expert: Futuromania 
On Friday 31 August at 6 pm, EMMA
Curator Laura Kokkonen, curator of Futuromania, talks about how the exhibition was planned and about its content. Free entrance.

Marko Home: Futuro world 50 years
On Saturday 15 September at 1 pm
Art historian and Futuro specialist Marko Home discusses the colourful phases of the Futuro and especially the current situation of the Futuro houses in various corners of the world.

Entrance fee 12/10 €, if other is not mentioned. Free entrance with Kaikukortti, Helsinki Card and Museokortti. Free for visitors under 18 and over 70 years of age. 

All lectures in Finnish. 


GUIDED TOURS FOR GROUPS

This special guided tour offered by WeeGee and EMMA is only available during the jubilee year of the Futuro house.

FUTURO 50 YEARS guided tour
The story of the utopian plastic house and the optimistic designs of modernism. See the Futuro House and the exhibition Futuromania – Designing Future Living. The tour ends at the Futuro World 50 Years -exhibition which can be explored independently. This special guided tour is part of the Futuro House 50th anniversary celebrations at WeeGee Exhibition Centre.

Duration is about 45 minutes.
Maximum group size 25 people.
The prices of guided tour are 60 € on weekdays and 88 € at weekends (+ admission cost).
